CUDO Communication Co., Ltd. announced that it has been selected as the final contractor for the “AI-Based Local Government CCTV Control Support System Project,” which was officially announced for bidding by the Korea Local Information Research & Development Institute (KLID) on the 12th.
The project, valued at approximately KRW 40 billion, aims to build an advanced intelligent CCTV platform utilizing local government CCTV footage. Its primary objective is to maximize the efficiency of municipal CCTV operations, enhance the productivity of integrated control centers, and ultimately strengthen public safety.
With recent advances in AI technologies and increasing computing power, there is a growing need to upgrade local government CCTV control systems by actively leveraging video data from approximately 600,000 disaster and public safety CCTV cameras nationwide. In response, this project will establish a platform that converts CCTV video data into AI training datasets, enabling intelligent CCTV solution providers to directly update and improve their models while receiving AI utilization support services.
Leveraging its advanced AI video analytics technologies and automated CCTV monitoring solutions, CUDO Communication Co., Ltd. plans to demonstrate generative AI-based disaster training data construction technologies and implement real-time risk detection and response systems. Through this initiative, the company aims to significantly enhance the disaster and safety monitoring capabilities of local governments.
A representative from CUDO Communication stated,
“Through this project, we will build AI training datasets and information frameworks based on diverse event data to deliver meaningful and tangible improvements in public safety,” adding, “We will provide customized AI control solutions tailored to the needs of individual local governments and use this opportunity to elevate Korea’s smart surveillance technologies to the next level.”
Through close collaboration between local governments and central government agencies, the project is expected to establish an optimized AI-based CCTV control system and lead continuous innovation in public safety through sustained technological advancement.
