CUDO Communication, an AI-based security solutions specialist, announced on the 21st that it has won the “Incheon Port Anti-Drone and Integrated Control Equipment Procurement and Installation Project,” promoted by the Incheon Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries and the Incheon Port Authority.

The project is valued at approximately KRW 5.8 billion and is scheduled to commence in August 2025, with an implementation period of around eight months. Full-scale operation is planned to begin in April 2026. Through this initiative, CUDO Communication will deploy an advanced port-specific anti-drone defense system across Incheon Port, capable of real-time detection, identification, and neutralization of unauthorized drones.

The system will incorporate state-of-the-art equipment, including
▲ drone detection radar ▲ EO/IR (electro-optical/infrared) cameras ▲ RF scanners ▲ jammers (radio frequency disruption devices).
Together, these technologies will enable early detection of illegal drones and support response measures ranging from signal jamming to soft-kill countermeasures, such as command-and-control takeover, depending on the situation.

With the implementation of this system, Incheon Port is expected to establish a new benchmark for port security, enabling immediate and effective responses to threats such as drone-based terrorism, illegal surveillance, and intelligence-gathering activities.

According to the revised International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Act, which came into effect in July 2024, drone flights over the airspace of port facilities are generally prohibited. Limited exceptions are granted only with prior approval from the port facility security officer, and unauthorized flights may result in administrative fines of up to KRW 10 million.

The anti-drone system deployed by CUDO Communication is expected to work in close conjunction with these regulatory measures, significantly enhancing the practical security level of Incheon Port.

A representative from CUDO Communication stated,

“We will continue to leverage AI-based security and surveillance technologies to safeguard public safety and protect critical national infrastructure.”

CUDO Communication has previously accumulated extensive expertise and operational know-how through multiple projects involving the construction and advancement of comprehensive port surveillance and control centers for regional maritime authorities. Building on this experience, the company plans to deliver an optimized solution that ensures both real-time responsiveness and system stability for the Incheon Port project.
